While many gyms resemble a graveyard in the months coming up to Christmas, we at Simply Gym are busy throughout October, especially with our recent Gym Wars! Celebrating Halloween this week, we thought we would put together some grueling exercises for you that are scarily good!
Pumpkin Iron (see what we did there?)
Don’t avoid the weights section of the gym like a vampire to garlic. If you are looking to get pirate ship shape, then why not get involved in some barbell exercises? From deadlifts to bent over rows, the more you howl like a werewolf, the better the results!
Do Your Fang
We all have those staple exercises that we enjoy doing. Whether that be the humble sit-up, or the hand-stand push up, it is advisable to work out in a way that you enjoy. With many personal trainers at hand to help you define those exercises, be sure that we at Simply Gym are here to make the most of your blood, sweat and tears.
Run For Your Life!
Although we are constantly singing the praises of weight-training and more inventive techniques, there is nothing wrong with a good old run on the dreadmill… we mean treadmill. However, we have found that many find running boring. If you fall into this category, why not pretend you are being chased by a zombie, or that you will be presented with Anthony Joshua in speedos at the end… whatever floats your boat.
Warm Up Like A Daredevil
Though encouraging you to ‘do your fang’, it is still important that you don’t let your regime get stale. Warming up is especially important, allowing you to increase the blood flow to the working muscles which results in decreased muscle stiffness, reduced risk of injury and often, improved performance. Here are just a few alternative warm-ups to consider:
Medicine ball swings
