As you may have noticed on Facebook we have been asking the Simply Gym Community for suggestions of a fantastic charity to support. Initially, we had nearly 50 charities suggested to us. We whittled that down to the 5 most popular and put them to one final vote. Well you have voted, and in April we are going to be supporting Mind.

 

Who are Mind?

Mind provide advice and support to those experiencing mental health problems. They helping to empower millions of people who struggle with their mental health each year. By raising money for Mind we will be helping them to improve their services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

We think this is a great choice as there is a real overlap here; having a healthy body and healthy mind is connected, so striving to improve both is essential if we are to achieve our life goals.

Mind are also a national organisation, with offices all over the UK. As a National Organisation that also increases the fit, as we are able to give back to people all over the UK.

 

How will we be supporting Mind?

During April, all five Simply Gyms will be focusing on raising awareness and funds for Mind.

We have the ambitious target of recording 100,000km for Mind.

Whether you are running, rowing, cycling or climbing stairs, we will be tracking the total distance everyone travels on our equipment. Each Simply Gym is looking to travel 20,000km in the month of April, so we reach our collective target.

We need all the help we can get so please bring your friends and family along to the club to help complete some kilometres towards our total (and use our facilities for free!).
