Will so-called superfoods, like blueberries, pomegranate and goji berry help me lose weight?
Experts disagree over the validity of the superfood tag, though many of these foods are natural berries and nuts and it is a good idea to include lots of berries, nuts and vegetables – preferably a good mix of colours – in your diet.
But individual foods don’t have magical powers. No matter what weight loss programme is trendy at any given time, the basic rules of weight loss don’t change – you need to eat fewer calories, particularly less sugar, move more and include weight-bearing exercise in your routine.
A healthy diet includes plenty of lean protein, lots of fresh veg, a daily helping of good fats, some simple carbs and plenty of water.
